Jersey City council looks to rename block for Olympic gold-medalist Andrew Stanfield


A Jersey City Olympic icon will likely be forever ingrained in city history on a small block in Greenville.

Thanks to a new ordinance introduced to the Jersey City Council last Wednesday, Sycamore Road, between Custer and Gates Avenue, is proposed to be renamed “Stanfield Lane” in honor of the U.S.A. Olympic Gold Medalist Andrew “Andy” Stanfield, who was raised in Jersey City.
