Linda Lou Smith obituary 1950~2023

Mrs. Linda Lou Smith (Hurley), 73, of Blue Ridge Summit, PA, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 6, 2023, in her home.

Born January 11, 1950 in Fairfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Merhl and Irene (Kendal) Hurley.

Mrs. Smith graduated from Fairfield High School with the Class of 1968.

She and her husband, the late Charles Dallas Smith, were married on January 27, 1968 in Thurmont, MD. Mr. Smith died on September 6, 2005.

In her early days, Mrs. Smith worked at the Thurmont Shoe Factory. Prior to her retirement in 2014, she was head housekeeper at the Days Inn, Frederick, MD.

Following her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and working on puzzles.

She is survived by three children, James Earl Smith, Sr. of Waynesboro, Dennis Allen Smith of Blue Ridge Summit and Gary Wayne Smith and his wife, Terri of Greencastle, PA; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis Hahn of Sabillasville, MD…
