Pursuit that ended in Marana led to discovery of around 2,000 fentanyl pills


TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Three people were taken into custody after a multiple-county chase ended in Marana early Thursday, July 6.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office said it started when a deputy spotted a stolen vehicle on Interstate 10 near Picacho Peak.

The alleged driver, 20-year-old Kaisala Wan, refused to stop and headed east on I-10 toward Pima County.

Kaisala Wan, 20, is facing charges of vehicle theft and running from law enforcement. He will likely also face drug charges.(Pinal County Sheriff’s Office)

A helicopter from Arizona DPS joined the chase and Marana police did too when the vehicle exited on Tangerine Road.

The vehicle stopped at Tangerine Sky Park and three people, including Wan, fled. All three were then taken into custody.

The PCSO said a backpack containing approximately 2,000 fentanyl pills, a small amount of suspected fentanyl powder, and paraphernalia indicative of sales activity was found in the area.

Wan was arrested and booked into the Pinal County Jail…
