A revamped PIAA schedule took away a week of practice and prompted the scholastic baseball season to start earlier than ever with games allowed on St. Patrick’s Day and league games beginning on March 21,
The teams throughout The Morning Call coverage area adapted well to the lack of practice and the early start.

Bangor was the surprise Colonial League champ, but Saucon Valley regrouped from a disappointing loss in the CL finals to win the District 11 3A gold and two PIAA playoff games. The Panthers were the last team standing, reaching the state semifinals before losing a heartbreaker to Camp Hill.
